Soldered brass, 9 x 7 x 5, 2010.
Minor Heroics (2010) is a compact, highly dense tabletop bust in soldered brass that reinterprets traditional monumental portraiture and heroic statuary through the lens of domestic assemblage. The title Minor Heroics operates with playful irony, referencing both the small scale of the sculpture and the modest, unheralded acts of everyday life. By forging an imposing silhouette out of discarded hardware fragments, the piece transforms utilitarian remnants into a quiet, humorous monument to human persistence.
